This morning I woke up to a blanket of white snow on the ground. I didn’t even know it was supposed to snow! All I remember is seeing 52 for the high, a picture of the sun, and 40%, which I thought meant 40% chance of rain. Somehow it never got above 31 degrees today and the wind is as bad as it was on Tuesday. It’s currently 27 degrees, but it feels like 17 degrees with the 18 mph winds.
Despite the unfavorable weather, I headed out for a 4 mile recovery run after work. I just ran on the roads around our house and ran a 9:55 average pace. I probably should have run a bit slower, because my legs felt really tired today, but it was so cold and windy and I just wanted to be done.
This is really random, but why not share the random thoughts that go through my head on a daily basis? I had a Golden Delicious apple today (they are delicious!) and I got to thinking about something. How cool would it have been to have been the person that got to name all the varieties of apples?? I am imagining a person sitting at a table with all of these types of apples in front of them, taking a bite out of each one, and writing down a name. What a fun job that would be!
It is now almost 6:15 PM and I am already showered and in my PJ’s for the night. Happy Friday Eve!
What is the weather where you are today?
Do you like apples? What’s your favorite variety?
I love honey crisp apples, but they’re so expensive! Golden delicious is my second favorite.
It was flurrying on my bike ride to work today. Much colder than I thought it was going to be. Apparently it’s supposed to snow on Sunday?? I love apples. I’m a Granny Smith fan (the tarter the better!). I also like Pink Ladys with slices of vermont white cheddar cheese! I got home from work around 3:30 and was immediately in my PJs, ha.
Yea they’re saying 3 to 6 inches or so! But then I’ve also heard them say freezing rain/sleet/plain old rain… so who knows. Sounds like you had the same kind of day as me. The earlier in to my PJs the better!
Sunny, breezy and a high of 60 today 🙂 This made me very happy.I love Honey Crisp and Gala apples and I totally agree that it would have been fun to name them all! Usually I just buy whichever apple variety is on sale, though.
I tend to buy whatever is on sale, too, except there are certain varities I will not buy. I do not like Jazz apples. The few times I’ve tried them, they’ve always been really hard.
I have to have an apple a day …it’s kind of ridiculous.Honeycrisp, golden delicious, gala, green apples, etc. I could go on and on.
I do that, too… but then I run out of apples! So I mix it up with clementines, baby carrots, etc.
I love honeycrisp, too! Also Gala and Fuji…the crunchy sweet ones.
Those are the best!
Honeycrisp are my favorite, too! I am ready for spring, but it doesn’t seem to want to show up on the end of the state either. I just don’t want to go from winter to summer…
I hate when we go straight from winter to spring… hopefully we’ll get some mild temperatures before we delve into the hot and humid.
