Stephanie at Now I Run nominated me for a Liebster Award! Thanks, Stephanie!!

I was grateful she thought of me and my blog, but I wasn’t quite sure what it actually meant. I tried to Google it, but you mostly get results of people’s blog posts who have received the award. Luckily, Stephanie also posted about what the award is.

Basically, it’s a way to put the spotlight on new and up and coming blogs that have less than 200 followers. When you get nominated, you post 11 random facts about yourself, answer the questions the nominator has set for you, and then nominate 11 new bloggers who are new/up and coming and give them 11 questions to answer.

11 random facts about me:

1. I have been married to my husband, Barry, for almost 3 years
2. I am a die hard Hokie fan, and I love Virginia Tech football

3. I am very allergic to cats
4. I pack my lunch every day for work
5. Growing up I swam competitively year round, played soccer, and also took piano lessons for 12 years
6. My current favorite TV show is Duck Dynasty

7. I hate being cold
8. My favorite farm animal is a cow
9. My (current) favorite color is purple
10. I have a random list of foods I don’t like: liver, asparagus, watermelon, squash, onions, chocolate, mushrooms, coconut flakes… the list goes on
11. When I was a kid I was in a circus club and I still know how to ride my unicycles. I have a standard one and one that’s 6 feet tall.

1. What is your favorite breakfast food?
Eggs, scrambled with cheese and hot sauce
 
2. Where would you travel on a dream vacation?
Hawaii! (I know… I dream big)
 
3. How many concerts have you been to? Which was your favorite?
I have been to at least 4… As for my favorite I’m torn between The Charlie Daniels Band and the Kid Rock/Lynyrd Skynyrd concert
 
4. Where were you born?
Virginia
 
5. What is your all-time favorite movie, book, and/or song?
Movie- The Blind Side; Book- To Kill A Mockingbird; Song- Sweet Home Alabama
 
6. Do you embarrass easily? Most embarrassing moment?
No, I don’t embarrass easily. Most embarrassing moment I can think of is in high school a boy flagged me in gym. I had on sweatpants and shorts and he claimed he meant to just grab my sweatpants, but he grabbed my shorts, too… on the basketball court and in front of everyone.
 
7. Did you go to college? Where? What did you study?
I went to Virginia Tech, and I studied Food Science and Agricultural Economics
 
8. Do you have pets? What kind(s)?
I have three dogs 🙂 Two bloodhounds and a mixed breed
 
9. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Strawberry!
 
10. If you could only go to one store for the rest of your life which one would you choose?
Well I guess Wal-Mart since they’re kind of a one-stop-shop
 
11. How often during the day do you check your email?

I used to check it less than once a day, but now that I have a smart phone I practically check it every time an email comes in on my phone (as long as I have the phone with me).

  1. Noooo I was going to pick you!! =). I’m also relieved that you don’t have 11 people, because I was struggling to come up with more than 6…ha. I don’t like watermelon either. I think it’s a texture thing…

  2. Thanks for the nomination! 🙂 I don’t know if I know 11 new bloggers or not but I’ll see! I’m the same way with e-mail checking. I’m obsessed. 99% of my e-mails are nonsense, but I do it anyhow!

    1. I think it’s okay if you don’t have 11. I was only able to nominate five :)I wasn’t obsessed with email checking until I got my new phone on Monday. Now it’s just like checking a text message.

    1. It was fun! Thanks for the nomination 🙂 I actually have a picture of myself on a 7 foot unicycle that was taken at the Cherry Blossom Parade in D.C. I’m on the unicycle and holding on to one of the stop lighs they have on the corners, haha. Wish I had been able to find it for the blog!

  5. A professor recently came to talk to my class about agricultural economics and I though it was so cool 😀 Apparently there arent many of you either!
