A Mom-themed Weekend

We had a fun weekend this past weekend. I hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day yesterday! Almost everything we did this weekend kind of centered around moms, actually. Barry and I welcomed the weekend with a challenging trail run Friday evening up Draper Mountain. The view from the top never gets old.

On Saturday morning I met up with Kim for a 4 mile run. She brought her little one along with her. With one mile to go I asked if I could push the stroller. It was tough to push! Kim swears you get used to it, but I’m not convinced.

When we got finished our run, Kim’s daughter was ready to get out of the stroller and run off some energy. She was so cute running around the playground!

On Saturday afternoon, Barry and I went to Kim and Chad’s reveal party (Kim is due in September). They did one of these for their first baby as well. It was exciting to find out they are expecting a boy! One of each.

On Sunday morning I did an easy 3 miles on the treadmill (while Barry was out doing a 15 mile long run). Then we headed down the interstate to visit withย his parents for Mother’s Day.

We enjoyed a nice afternoon and had a late lunch of ham, rolls, green beans, sweet potatoes, corn, and fruit. Yum! After hanging out for a bit, it was time to head back up the road.

What did you do for Mother’s Day?
Have you ever been to a baby reveal party?
Apparently it has now become a ‘thing’ that they make decorations for and everything!

  1. Glad to still have my mom and your nana around. Spent the day helping her out with yardwork and such. So glad she can still be independent and live in her own house at 89. May we all be so healthy.

    LUD.

    1. Glad y’all were able to go up and spend the day with Nana for Mother’s Day! She told me all about it on the phone after y’all left ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Sounds like you had a great weekend! I’ve not been to a gender reveal party, but it sounds fun! Kim looks great. I can’t believe she’s still pushing that stroller – impressive!

    1. I think they’re neat! It’s not only fun to find out what the couple is having, but to watch their reaction as they find out alongside everyone else. Kim is awesome! I didn’t realize how much extra work pushing the stroller is – and I’m not even growing another human!

  3. The comments are too kind! You forgot to mention how slow I now run, especially pregnant! Pushing the stroller really does get easier the longer you do it. We will see how easy it is to push with two in there. It was great to have you and Barry with us to find out about baby #2!

    1. I’ll take your word for it on pushing the stroller. When you’ve got two to push it’s going to become a combo run and strength workout!

  4. Sounds like fun! Gender reveal parties weren’t really a thing when I was pregnant. It’s so funny how things change so quickly!

Glad you had a good mother’s day!
